Responsible Gambling

Casiniasmash is committed to promoting responsible gambling. We believe that gambling should remain a form of entertainment and should never be used as a way to make money or solve financial problems. This page provides information and resources to help you gamble safely and to get help if you need it.

Gambling Should Be Entertainment

Gambling is a leisure activity that carries risk. The odds are designed to favour the operator over the long term. You should only ever gamble with money you can afford to lose. Never use money that is needed for rent, bills, food, or other essentials. Never chase losses by betting more to try to win back what you have lost. If you find yourself thinking of gambling as a way to make money or escape problems, it is time to stop and seek support.

Setting Limits

Most licensed UK gambling operators offer tools to help you stay in control. These can include deposit limits (daily, weekly, or monthly), loss limits, and session time limits. You can also set reality checks that remind you how long you have been playing. We strongly encourage you to use these tools. Set limits before you start and stick to them. If you find it hard to stick to limits, that may be a sign that you need to take a break or seek help.

Self-Exclusion: GAMSTOP

In the UK, GAMSTOP is a free service that allows you to self-exclude from all gambling sites licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Once you register, you will be excluded from opening new accounts and using existing accounts with participating operators for a period you choose (six months, one year, or five years). You can sign up at gamstop.co.uk. Self-exclusion is a serious step and is designed for people who want to stop or significantly reduce their gambling. If you feel you need to self-exclude, we encourage you to do so and to contact support organisations for additional help.

Getting Help and Support

If you are worried about your own gambling or someone else's, help is available. GamCare provides free information, advice, and support for anyone affected by problem gambling. You can contact them at gamcare.org.uk or call the National Gambling Helpline (UK) on 0808 8020 133. BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org) also offers free support and resources. These organisations can provide counselling, advice on debt and other issues, and signposting to further services. You do not have to be in crisis to get in touch; early intervention can prevent problems from getting worse.

Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone. Some signs to watch for include: spending more money or time on gambling than you intended; lying to family or friends about gambling; borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble; feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling; trying to win back losses; and neglecting work, relationships, or other responsibilities. If you recognise these signs in yourself or someone close to you, do not hesitate to seek help. Problem gambling is treatable and support is confidential.
